The game is really good and I suspect cross platform will be good also.
I'm going to say a prayer to all 360 owners. Unless there is a forced option where hotkeys cannot be used, I suspect that 360 gamers are going to cry out in horror as their front lines get shattered by the superior speed and microing skills of PC gamers.
Interesting. The only RTS game that I'll probably ever have for a console (assuming it turns out well) is Halo Wars.

That one shadow game did the same thing making turn speeds very slow even for pc users, while giving auto aim to console... But good luck, this will most likely require Xboxlive gold account.. Most pc gamers will simply not pay for it.. ESPECIALLY for a 7.5 game when there are tons of recent AA/AAA rts games out there that have free multiplayer.. Apparently microsoft doesn't understand this..

It's one of the reasons why I'm torn between getting Gears of War for the PC and just ignoring it: Locking up the majority of features behind an additional $50 price tag is just brutal.

[/QUOTE] Well for one there just isn't enough games to justify getting a xboxlive account.. 4 games total.. I believe only 1 game even got above a 8.0 that has the feature, and thats Gears.. Secondly look at the competition.. Very few people will play Universe if any at all if they havn't played Supreme Commander, Dawn of War, company of Heroes, World in Conflict, SIns of a Solar Empire, CnC 3 etc etc.. The list just goes on of top quality recent games.
It's nice for those who want to play with their friends who don't own a PC/360, but MS requiring a Gold account for cross-plat play kinda destroys that nice idea too, unless the PC gamer also has a 360 he won't pay for Gold, and if he does have a 360 then they could play together anyway. So ..I don't really see the whole cross-plat play benefiting anyone. :/

The list just goes on of top quality recent games.[/QUOTE]Three of those, S.C , WIC , %26 CnC plus the U at W makes four new RTS games for 360 all due to arrive 1st half 2008 !Maybe the PC cross platform might fail do due to the XBL fee but I'm hoping plenty of 360 gamers will be on XBL playing these new games.The 360 is shedding the FPS console title ( that is now PS3 ;) ) and striving for the RTS title I guess.:)

Chances are there will be no cross play content just due to how fundamentally different it is.. Not to mention these games would have to nerf pc users with a patch on top of that.. I don't care what nay one says you can not keep up with some one who uses hotkeys with a game pad.
