Umbrella Chronicles Outsells Zack & ...

although i dont have a wii yet because i cant find one  it makes me sad that adventure games dont sell at all and game that looks as fun and amazing as zack and wiki.. :( this was agame and IS a game that i will buy when i get a wii..''As part of their quarterly financial results, Capcom have announced sales figures for some of their more prominent titles from Q3 2007. Zack %26 Wiki included. Surprisingly, it managed to sell 300,000 copies; not much in the grand scheme of things, but for a puzzle game featuring new IP and no Western advertising? It did OK. Until, that is, you look at 10-hour snoozefest Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, and see it sold over 950,000 copies. That gasping, gurgling sound you hear behind you is the death of justice. ...''articleUmbrella Chronicles Outsells Zack %26amp; ...
No really, gamers DON'T want mature games - keep telling that to yourselves Sheep.Umbrella Chronicles Outsells Zack %26amp; ...
RE: UC was pretty bleh, I shoulda bought Zack and Wiki instead :(Still, 300K is A LOT better than I expected.
No really, gamers DON'T want mature games - keep telling that to yourselves Sheep.
Zack and Wiki is a childs game?
It wouldnt have sold well on any console. It's a very niche genre. Add to that the kiddy look of it and 300k is pretty good. As to why RE:UB sold so many copies, I can't answer that.

If Zack %26 Wiki - a new franchise - managed to amass 300k in sales without the help of any advertising in the U.S then I say it has done admirably well. I wouldn't comepare it to REUC seeing as UC is an established franchise and the series has traditionally received greats sales on Nintendo consoles.
I lose more respect for Kotaku every day.

*sigh*

They conveniently ignore the fact that in Capcom's official statement - they were EXTREMELY happy with both figures. Point-and-click adventure titles are obviously niche - not to mention the fact that Z%26W is a new IP. Is anyone really surprised that a game with ''Resident Evil'' in the title outsold it?
RE: UC is a good and fun game but the story is really messed up.

It's an adventure game. These games don't get better sales.
Sounds like great news to me. I bought both games and greatly enjoyed both for differant reasons. I was under the impression that Zack and Wiki hadn't cracked the 100,00 mark so hearing that it sold 300,000 makes me happy. Those are really great sales for a game that got virtually no advertising. I'm sure the next one (Capcom would be stupid not to make a next one) will come with ads now that it's gained a following.

Yeah,... thought so.

Meanwhile Nintendogs is well on its way to becoming the best selling stand-alone game in history. Oh, and Pokemon says hi.

Uh. Yes. :|

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - 15.23 million copies sold

Nintendogs - 17.38 million copies sold (and still selling)

Oh, and on another note:

GTA franchise - 64 million copies sold

Pokemon franchise - 165 million copies sold

Please stop failing.
