Wii and the rest of us........

Alright, slow your roll. In no way, shape, or form am I trying to say Mario Cart ''teh sux.'' In fact, it is one of the only games that would actually motivate me to buy a Wii. It is a very popular franchise that was revisited very well on the GC. And there's no indication it won't be just as good this round.Buuuut, I want you all to look at something. Now, can you see why people don't agree when you say that Wii has good graphics? Do you see why some people call the Wii ''kiddy?'' Do you see how consoles like the PS3 and the 360 go for realism and Nintendo goes for........shells?And before you counter, one more thought. Look at the PS3 screens. How friggin sweet would it be to see mario cart with those graphics? It would be awesome, without a doubt. Don't you wish you had that (gameplay AND graphics)? **EDIT**TO ALL OF YOU: Tell me that if 360 had the 360-mote and Wii had no motion controls and the same graphics it would be selling this well. Wii and the rest of us........
I wouldn't like to see mario kart with such realistic graphics but yes, graphics like SMG's would make it better imo..Wii and the rest of us........
what game is that on the PS3? mario kart is better with the style it uses. still that looks like a DS game. im sure it will look like a slightly better double dash when its done. nintendo sux. always 5 years behind on everything. mario kart is usually one they get right though.

Nintendo is going after another audience. I understand where you are coming from. After playing the 360 or PS3 and then turn on the Wii. It does take a second for me to get used to how the games look. SMG is a lot of fun and so is No More Heroes, just to name a few. Yes it would be sweet if it had PS3 or 360 graphics on top of what it has, but Nintendo is clearly not aiming for this market. The Wii would be struggling for any market share if it had a price tag of 400-600. As it stands now, Nintendo has done a great job of differentiating itself. Wii is still a lot of fun, despite the limits on its graphical abilities.

Unless Nintendo satys with the same technologies forever, Nintendo console prices will go up after Wii. What will you do then? If Ninty is happy with less powerful hardware, they never have to have a $350+ system.

Except I think you just hurt your point.And I am sure that Mario Kart will not only sell better that ''uber-realistic kart game'' but will be more loved and much higher rated as well, showing that ''shells'' also have something realistic graphics cannot replace. Heart and fun.
Yeah it would but surely Nintendo Wii would cost the same amount as PS3 if it had the same/similar hardware??? Then suddenly the console would not sell as well as it is??But the ''Kiddy Look''/Shells make the game what it is..... So what if it looks ''kiddy'' its still one best multiplayer racing games and I love it

Nintendo isn't obsessed with making their games look pretty. They have gone against a few new ideas in the past, and why should they stop now. I'll admit, the Wii has a lot of games oriented towards kids, but there are others that aren't so ''kiddy''

Do you think they can repeat that kind of breakthrough every gen? That's laughable if you do.Let me sum up your thoughts: Nintendo will be just fine always using out of date graphics because every gen they will come up with something as big as the Wii-mote and no other console could come up with their own breakthrough. Is that about right?
