Why MS should buy Sony instead

http://www.n4g.com/gaming/News-108228.aspx pretty funny, will never happen. Why MS should buy Sony instead
Esquire, the leading name in gaming? Why MS should buy Sony instead
nope. never heppen.
i love how he saying we don't need hightech like hdmi/blu-ray ect. but yet the blu-ray movies are winnig because of the ps 3 supporting it. we don't need hdmi but yet the hd market is getting larger and larger which all of them now come with hdmi.so i guess we should still be using that screw in wire with the switch on it that says tv or game. likr the snes has.
LOL, yea like they could afford Sony. If the Yahoo deal goes through MS will have to take a loan out to do it. First time in their history.http://arstechnica.com/journals/microsoft.ars/2008/02/05/microsoft-we-dont-have-the-cash-for-yahoo
I know that is not serious, but lets for a second. First off, Sony is a major corporation. They own more than just electronics and Play station. They have about a dozen subsidiaries. Another thing, despite the pending recession in the US, sony is doing better than MS IMO. Now that sony is actually making money on the 40gb sku they are in a good position to recuperate some profits. MS also had a good year with the xbox sales, but dumping a billion dollars into warranty and repairs is not exactly a good thing.

They sold over 100 million copies of Vista which is a gross profit of over 10 billion. At least 85% of computers are windows based. Sony's electronics, movies and whatever else they do come nowhere close. This would never happen anyway. Government stops monopolies. MS tried to get into the pc manufacturing business in the late 90's and were stopped. Probably why they got into game consoles.A few years back Dish Network was in a position to buy Direct TV and were stopped by the government.
If MS did buy Sony, expect Sony to have quality software and MS to have quality hardware, while Nintendo continues to dominate both.
as stated before, a monopoly would not be a good thing
If Nintendo wouldn't sell up during the gamecube era, the likelyhood of a much bigger company, no matter how badly they're doing selling its shares is slim to none. besides if IF that did ever come close to happening, The American government would probably finally crack the monopaly wip.

M$ is only a muti-million dollar company (they may be in the low billions by now). Where Sony in a whole is more of a multi-billion dollar company (possibly they are in the trillions now of total worth). I don't see M$ having near enough resources to even come close to buying Sony, on the other hand Sony could buy M$ with resources to spare. But then there are laws in place that would make this almost impossible to do.
If MS did buy Sony, expect Sony to have quality software and MS to have quality hardware, while Nintendo continues to dominate both.
If MS bought Sony there would be no PS4 and MS would have no incentive to increase hardware quality. Nintendo isnt really dominating since they go after a different consumer base.

Forbes ranks the 2000 richest companies, with MS coming in at 56th and sony coming in at 164... In fact, according to the rankings they have less money than uk supermarket chain Tesco.
