PC games sales

yes i know another one, but really read this one, finally a site who have decided to use some investigating. still not looking that pretty though: http://www.yougamers.com/news/17520_pc_games_sales_-_has_it_really_been_that_bad/ PC games sales
There is so much wrong with this 'investigation' its not even worth going into the details.Even the NPD said PC gaming was in top shape, and one of the largest platforms - USA only.PC games sales
pc games sell well, but not ones that alienate the majority of gamers like Crysis. A good game with realistic specs will sell well. WoW anyone??
Oh man I can here the pitter patter of little ps3 fanboy feet coming this way.Talk numbers and they go ballistic.
it was an interesting read unfrotunatley, no figures were given by codemasters, eidos, or some of the smaller publishing houses like deep silver (guys who publish x3)no matter i have a feeling this year will be grand, spore will sell and sell well (if not i'll eat my hat), starcraft 2 another mega seller (eat hat again if wrong) and empire total war will do the business here in the UK (have you seen the PC charts, the total war games never leave almost like the sims). when i get home i must go through the games i bought and find out who published them. i don't think i bough many that were from EA except crysis.
Electronic Arts
 • Hellgate: London
 • SimCity Societies
 • Need for Speed: ProStreet
 • Medal of Honor: Airborne
 • Crysis
Activision
 • Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
 • Soldier of Fortune: Payback
 • Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
 • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Ubisoft
 • The Settlers: Rise of an Empire
 • Blazing Angels 2
 • Heroes of Might %26 Magic V: Tribes of the East
Looking at that list I'm not so surprised, the truth is that the games were rather poor from those big three. None of the best games of 2007 are there, Crysis is perhaps one of them but with the massive requirements no one expected it to sell millions, not yet anyway. The rest were massive dissapointments imo. Best games were The Witcher, Stalker and TOB ..and I think all did reasonably well, not to mention Blizzard...Anyway, I think 2008 will be better. Spore, Starcraft 2, Lich King, TW, Dragon Age and few others should be certain hits ..if not, then I can only say shame on us.
Ehhhh isnt the EA revenue graph showing that EA is getting higher revenue from the PC than the PS3 or Wii and is only being beaten by the 360? This is very good for the PC especially when you consider the fact that EA makes a lot of its money from sports games that never come to the PC.As for Ubisoft, its biggest game AC has yet to come out for the PC so of course they will get more revenue from 360/PS3, I mean look at their revenue from the PS2 which is the lowest while it is the highest for EA. If you dont release big games on a platform then you cant complain when you dont get much revenue from that platform.
I may go to Best Buy and look at the five PC games they have and see if there is something I want
There is so much wrong with this 'investigation' its not even worth going into the details.Even the NPD said PC gaming was in top shape, and one of the largest platforms - USA only.
We could defend it all we want, but those games just suck. Except Crysis, ET Quake Wars and CoD4.This list just shows that Ubisoft is completely abandoning PC, and I don't expect anything great from them in 2008. Now you'll say, but there's Far Cry 2. And I'll say - it's multiplatform. Assasin's Creed? Forget about it.
